About This Place
Situated in the bustling heart of Deira on Omar Bin Al Khattab Street, Al Forat Restaurant is a standout destination for lovers of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine in Dubai. This eatery masterfully blends traditional flavors with a casual, welcoming dining atmosphere that invites both locals and visitors to indulge in a rich culinary journey.
At Al Forat, the menu is a vibrant celebration of Middle Eastern staples and hearty grilled specialties. The highlight for many guests is undoubtedly the shawarma—both beef and chicken varieties—that have earned glowing praise for their juicy, tender meat and perfectly seasoned layers. Whether wrapped in warm pita or savored as part of the Shawerma Platter, the flavors here are deeply satisfying, with a harmony of garlic, tahini, and fresh herbs that burst in every bite. Falafel enthusiasts will delight in their crispy, golden Falafel Platter, offering a perfect balance of earthy chickpeas and aromatic spices.
Beyond shawarma, the appetizers paint an equally enticing picture. The hummus is notably creamy and rich, crafted from the freshest chickpeas and tahini, making it a delectable companion to the fresh, zesty Fattoush salad with its crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and minty notes enhanced by toasted pita. For those craving grilled specialties, the Al Forat Mix Grill and Khashkhash Kebab present succulent options, boasting perfectly charred meats seasoned with traditional Middle Eastern spices, tantalizing the senses with rich smokiness and tender bites.
Diners consistently remark on the freshness and authenticity that permeate every dish. Customer Akila Edirisinghe summarizes the experience best: “The flavors are spot on — juicy meat, perfectly seasoned, and wrapped just right.” This sentiment echoes the wider acclaim Al Forat garners for delivering true, unapologetic Middle Eastern street food flavors in a comfortable yet casual setting.
Whether you're settling in for a quick, flavorful lunch or a relaxed evening meal, the relaxed ambiance allows the food to take center stage. The interplay of savory grilled meats, vibrant salads, creamy dips, and thoughtfully prepared sides creates a feast that not only pleases the palate but stirs a deep appreciation for the time-honored culinary traditions of the region.

• 4 month ago⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Al Forat Restaurant is on another level when it comes to shawarma. I’ve eaten shawarma all over Dubai for years, and this place stands out every single time. The flavors are spot on — juicy meat, perfectly seasoned, and wrapped just right. Both the beef and chicken shawarma are absolute must-tries. So good that even though I live far, I still make the trip whenever I’m craving real shawarma. Clean place, friendly and polite staff, and consistently great quality. If you’re serious about shawarma, this is the spot.

• 5 month agoAbsolutely delicious! Creamy 5-star hummus, fresh salad and pickles, and perfectly grilled lamb tikka with tomato and herbs. Super fresh and flavorful from start to finish. And all this for just 48 AUD – amazing value. Highly recommended!

• 6 month agoDuring my recent visit to Al Forat, a shawarma restaurant renowned for its Middle Eastern flavors, I had the opportunity to sample a couple of their popular dishes. The restaurant offers a casual and inviting atmosphere, ideal for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Meat Shawarma (7/10): The meat shawarma was flavorful, with the tahini well-infused into the tender meat. However, it was a bit too greasy for my liking, which slightly detracted from the overall enjoyment of the dish. Despite this, the taste was still quite pleasant, making it a satisfying option for shawarma enthusiasts. Falafel Plate (7.5/10): The falafel plate was a good choice. The falafel balls were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, offering a nice contrast in textures. The flavors were well-balanced, with the spices enhancing the natural taste of the chickpeas. This dish stood out as a tasty and fulfilling option, perfect for both vegetarians and falafel lovers. Overall, my experience at Al Forat was good and brings back a nostalgic feeling. The restaurant delivers on its promise of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, with both dishes providing a good balance of flavor and satisfaction. While the meat shawarma could benefit from a reduction in grease, the taste remains enjoyable. The falafel plate, on the other hand is the winner in this case. Al Forat is a good spot for those looking to indulge in traditional shawarma and falafel in a relaxed setting.

• 6 month agoIf you’re craving proper Middle Eastern street food done right, Forat Restaurant absolutely delivers — especially with their meat shawarma and falafel sandwich. The meat shawarma was seriously impressive. Juicy, well-seasoned, and packed with that rich, slow-roasted flavor you want from a proper shawarma. The meat was tender, not dry, and the balance of garlic sauce, veggies, and bread was spot on. Every bite was loaded with flavor — the kind that makes you immediately plan your next visit. The falafel sandwich was just as good. Fresh, crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside, and not oily (which is rare and honestly deserves applause). The seasoning was perfect, and paired with the sauces and fresh fillings, it was insanely satisfying. Overall, the food was genuinely delicious, comforting, and very well executed. Definitely a place worth going back to if you want reliable, seriously tasty shawarma and falafel

• 6 month agoOne if the best lamb shwarma restaurant in Dubai. The falafel is delicious as well. I am not a fan of chicken shwarma, but Al Forat does a very good chicken shwarma too. Additionally, the fruit juices here are very fresh and delicious, specially the cocktail juice. A must visit place for shwarma lovers.

His fantabulous technique of professionalism in preparing is too authentic. Words can't describe much until you taste the awesomeness. The restaurant also has an excellent waitress Vita who provides the wide spread food with a smile. Thanking you for your service & good food .
